Contralateral control and other aspects of left and right brain:  Psych 1 09/04/2008 02:35:00 Lefties vs. Righties Lefties disproportionately very intelligent, disproportionately unusually stupid,  disproportionately homosexual, disproportionate amount of left-handed  felons, more likely to have disorders: lupis, migraine headaches, etc. Stuttering often a result of competition btwn the left and right hemispheres Split Brain Procedure o Usually due to debilitating epilepsy, isolate left hemisphere from right  hemisphere o Video:  cuts corpus colossum – L and R hemispheres of brain can’t  communicate,  o Gentleman is not largely affected by this operation in day to day life, he  can draw two separate things with different hands, only registers things  on one side or the other – only once Joe sees what right brain is  drawing can he give it a name. o
