2PART ONE: STRATEGIC THEATER LEVEL OF WAR1.The Operational EnvironmentThe strategy called for immediate withdrawal of all Iraqi forces and to secure theliberation of Kuwait hence restoring their legitimate government. The central plan,voiced by the United States, included for the security of Saudi Arabia and Americancitizens abroad. The strategy employed a joint campaign approached and wasapproved by the Joint Force Commander. The environment of the operation make up ofair, sea, land, and special operations. The ground operations were majorly conductedadjacent to the coast.1Regarding the ground operations, the coastal terrain was mainlyflattened with fairly established transportation network that connected the coastal citiesof Iraq. Sabkhas and Sand dunes also existed next to to the road. The sand dunesformed components of the operating environment because they slowed down theefficient flying of war jets, especially the ones that flew at a lower altitude. The weatherthat soldiers encountered during the war were unfriendly, with temperatures risingabove 140 degrees Fahrenheit during the day and dropped to freezing points during thenight. The setting of air operation encompassed Tomahawk operations and extendedthe Operations in regions such as Western Iraq and Baghdad.2This was executed in anattempt to cripple Iraq command and control and their air defense network. The attackundertaken through air operation was divide into three segments: Phase I focused onconducting a strategic attack against Iraq; Phase II aimed at air supremacy in Kuwait;while Phase III focused on creating an operative theater of war.
32.U.S. Strategic Theater Level objectivesThe first goal of this operation was to assist in countering the enemy by usingapproaches in gathering international justice as well as collaboration as a way ofshowing the authorization of the military and national strategic plans. An objective of theUnited States Theater Strategic Level was to make peace in the region by nullifying thehostility of Iraq while at the same time using negotiation means to bring the opposingparties into terms. The United States Theater Strategic Level also intended to supportthe promotion of a partner country as well as friendly military relations for the self-defense and other numerous issues about the exchange of significant information in theregion for stability and intelligent reasons. Another objective was to facilitate real-timeprovision of contingency and augmenting the access to the United States forces.Aunanimous resolution was passed by the UN condemning the invasion and placing anembargo on Iraq. The United Nations resolutions failed to support the objectives inaddition to the United States freezing all their assets to prevent Iraq from accessingtheir wealth.
