The system is highly catered to getting you help fast and efficiently from classmates, the TA, and myself. Rather than emailing questions to the teaching staff, I encourage you to post your questions on Piazza. If you have any problems or feedback for the developers, email [email protected] You will find a link to Piazza on the navigation pane of the course site in Canvas. h) Students will also need a scientific calculator for taking exams. (See note under Section 7 regarding exams.) 5. Assignments, Assessment, and Evaluation a) Learning Modules (LM) will be associated with each lecture. The learning modules will generally contain videos that are screen- casts of topics to be addressed in the associated class period. Each module will be constructed so that it can be completed in ~40 minutes (provided you have read the book). At the end of each learning module you will need to complete the graded quiz, as outlined in Section III above. Credit for quizzes will be based on correct responses for 4 of the 7 questions included in the quiz. I will review quiz results prior to class and address the most commonly recorded errors. For this reason, Learning Modules and Module Quizzes are due one hour before the associated class date. There are 26 scheduled class periods and there will therefore be 26 Learning Modules and Quizzes. Each of these will be worth 5 points. I will drop your 5 lowest scores and these will be weighted as 10% of your final grade in the course. b) After you have completed the learning modules for the week, you will need to complete a short survey in Canvas. Each survey will be composed of a two simple questions: 1) “Did you find anything difficult or confusing about the topics in the learning modules this week?”; and 2) “Describe briefly what you find most interesting about the material in these learning modules.” These surveys are graded based solely on completion – but you will receive credit ONLY if you include a thoughtful answer to each question and...
