Nintendo Case StudyAlthough Nintendo is one of the largest video game companies in the world it is currently struggling to come up with a new product that will bring them success once again. According to the case study, Nintendo’s most recent product, the Wii U, hasn’t been as successful as their other products such as the Wii. Nintendo is facing a very powerful competitor(s) that are currently running the world, smartphones. These smartphones, or more specifically iPhones and Androids, seem to be owned by everyone now and people devote most of their time and money solely on that device. Smartphones are technically a substitute for Nintendo products, since they provide different services, but they have now become one of its greatest competitors. They have completely taken over Nintendo’s market with their creation of apps because many of them are games. Since everyone nowadays seems to own a smartphone, one can say that the most current consumers of Nintendo products are younger children who don’t own a phone yet.
