It’s business covers retailing of food, clothing, electronics,distribution, logistics, telecommunication and financial services. The principal activity of thegroup is still food retailing. Tesco has over 6351 stores worldwide, employs more than 475,000people in its businesses around the world.Tescois the grocery market leader in the UK (whereit has a market share of around 30%) and 80% of its profit still comes from the UK, however ithas stores in 14 countries across Asia, Europe and North America.
