1. You are reviewing a new electron microscope that used 2 charged rings in the electron gun. The design
has two equal radius parallel rings separated by twice their radius. Each ring is given equal but opposite
charges. Electrons are produced at rest at the center of one of the rings and accelerated along the axis
between the rings’ centers. Does it matter in which ring the charge is produced? Why or why not?
