The Knight Commission(Reflection 2)The Knight Commission made 3 Recommendations for Governance Reform of NCAADivision I. Their first recommendation stated that a new FBS football entity should be form.Basically, creating a National College Football Association (NCFA) outside the already formNational College Athlete Association (NCAA). This recommendation supposes to be beneficialto both Division I Sports and the NCAA. The release of the FBS from the NCAA plans shouldopen up around 60 million Dollar budget to spread throughout the NCAA for the other D1 sportincluding FCS FOOBALL: athlete education, health, safety, revenue distribution, litigation,eligibility, and enforcement. I feel that this move will most defiantly affect the NCAACompliance and give intercollegiate sports a new look by giving least funded sports programsthe opportunity to compete and receive same benefits or improvement as a student athlete at theirinstitution like any other sport who has less struggle financially.
