In Mendel’s dihybrid experiments with peas he followed the transmission of two unlinked pairs of genes: the alleles controlling pod color were green ( G ) or yellow ( g ) where green is the dominant allele, and the alleles controlling pod shape were round ( R ) or pinched ( r ) where round is the dominant allele. A dihybrid genotype is symbolized by G/g ; R/r . Draw the chromosomes of a diploid cell with G/g ; R/r genotype at the stages listed below. In all cases, use a single line to represent each chromosome or chromatid, and a small oval to represent the centromeres, as appropriate, and place the alleles accurately on the chromosomes. Draw a circle/oval around each cell. If there is more than one alternative, show all of them. You do not need to consider crossing over until indicated in (f). a) 1 point. Interphase of mitosis.
