SSA100 Great human Odyssey The documentary Great Human Odyssey takes us on a journey showing how humans have evolved and survived allowing for our present lives. In the film anthropologist, Niobe Thompson travels to different parts of the world and participates in activities that our predecessors must have done to survive. The film addresses anthropology and its subfields. All humans are born from Africa, because of biologic (biological anthropology) changes they were able to evolve, walking on two legs and have a larger brain cavity allowing for the human brain to grow through nutrition by literally feeding the brain. This allowed them to form language (linguistic anthropology) and communicate through kinesics, interchangeability, and even art. Humans created weapons (archaeology) like spears from rocks, cooking utensils, and shelters giving a glimpse of how they may have survived. The fact that humans were able to evolve gave them the ability to leave Africa and migrate to all parts of the world. Creating different cultures (cultural anthropology) that I think could have resulted from the environment that they emigrated to. Neobi observes Saint Bushman, a hunter-gatherer society and observes how they store water in ostrich eggs. Archaeologists have found these eggs from previous centuries, which means that this is something that has been practiced for a long time
