Another way is through the summation of job facets. It identifies key element in a job. • More people are satisfied with their job than not. Also, satisfaction levels vary a lot, depending on which facet of job satisfaction that is being talked about. Employees in Western cultures have higher levels of job satisfaction than employees in Eastern cultures. • What causes job satisfaction? There is a strong correspondence between how well people enjoy the social context of their workplace and how satisfied they are overall. Independence, feedback, social support, and interaction with co- workers outside the workplace are strongly related to job satisfaction. People with low incomes incorporate pay and job satisfaction together, but people with higher incomes do not. Money motivates people. • Core self evaluations- bottom- line conclusions individuals have about their capabilities, competence, and worth as a person. Personality plays a role, as people with positive core self- evaluations are more satisfied with their jobs.
