4/30 Koerner Commission- national commission on civil disorder headed by Otto Koerner (Illinois) - Staff overwhelmingly liberal o Argued that ghetto riots of 1960s spearheaded by racial discrimination and great poverty of racial minority in great cities o Only solution is for government to do more in order to enhance income of minorities As Koerner Commission is part of government, and is obviously liberal biased, many conservatives argued that wasn’t just as government shouldn’t have a predilection towards conservatism or liberalism. Results of “new deal” - Foreign interests? - the new deal encouraged the organization of labor unions by establishing national labor unions board which set up procedures for establishing labor unions as representatives of employees, thus allowing them to collect dues from the paychecks of all workers in the particular locale. In essence, the federal government gave taxing authority to these labor unions, thus allowing unions more money to run more efficiently.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
