CS4620 Fall 2008 Midterm 2 Solution ----------------------------------- Problem 1. 1. This case has diffuse and specular lighting computed per vertex and interpolated, with the diffuse component (but not the specular component) modulated by a texture map. 1a. Positions, normals, and texture coordinates. 1b. The positions are transformed into screen space. The normals are transformed to eye space. Position and normal are used to compute diffuse and specular shading 1c. Texture coordinates, diffuse color, and specular color. 1d. The texture coordinates are used to look up texture color. The diffuse color is multiplied by the texture color and added to the specular. This could also be done by passing scalar diffuse and specular values from the vertex stage. 2. This case has no texture but has colored diffuse and white specular shading, with specular shading computed per fragment. 2a. Positions, normals, and diffuse color. 2b. The positions are transformed to screen space.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
