If we deal in proportions (we do) we relativize fitness to the (usually) highest fitness genotype. Highest relative fitness equals 1 and everything else has a percentage fitness relative to that. If so, then it is an adaptation Troubles: What if it has no variation? What if it has a different function from its original function?
