There will be a midterm exam and a final exam. The final exam will be cumulative, with more weight
given to the newer material. It’s my policy not to answer any questions during the exams (and long quizzes). Problems or concerns with any of the examination questions should be documented in writing
on the first page of exam booklet. I will read all comments before finalizing exam grades. To control for
the difficulty of the exams, I will give the full score to the first and second highest grades achieved by
students in each exam and will bump up the grades of other students accordingly.
You need to bring a simple scientific calculator to the exam session (You cannot use smart-phones or
PDAs as calculator). In addition, you may bring one standard size sheet of handwritten formulas to the
exam sessions (one-sided). You must turn in your formula sheet with your exam, the formula sheet will
be reviewed for accordance to the rules, but will not be given back to you.
If you miss the midterm exam for a valid reason, you must contact me immediately (before the exam
time) and provide appropriate documentation. In case of an acceptable excuse, I will shift the weight of
the midterm exam towards the final exam. In order to pass the class you are required to take both midterm
and the final exam.
