Free-body diagrams must be drawn wherever appropriate. 1. (8 marks) The sketch shows the sail of a boat with dimensions given in metres. Determine the x and y coordinates of the centroid of the sail. The sketch below shows the location of the centroid of a triangle at y = h/3. 2. (8 marks) The sketch shows a frame which is supported by pin joints at A and B. The two members are joined by a pin at C. Note that member ACD is one continous piece - i t does not have a joint at C . Determine the reactions at A and B.
