Instruction for the lab experiment1 preparationGet the sterile container for water sampling from the TA on 18-Feb during class break.One container for each group.2 sample collectionFind a natural waterbody where the water is physically and legally accessible. Collect watersample in the sterile container and transport the bottle back to the test site.The watersample should be kept on ice or in a refrigerator until plated.Icepack is recommended fortransporting the water sample. To keep the sample valid, the sample is bettercollectedwithin one day before the experiment(e.g. for experiment scheduled on Tuesdayafternoon, the sample is best collected in the Tuesday morning; for experiment scheduledon Wednesday morning, the sample is best collected in the late afternoon of Tuesday andkept in the refrigerator after collecting till the experiment).On site photos should be taken to record the surrounding environment of the waterbody.
