Concepts of Sartre in the Story of Ed Danté The story of Ed Danté demonstrates many concepts of philosophical existentialist Jean-Paul Sartre. In some ways, Danté seems he might be an existentialist when sharing his perspective on the absurdity of an individual’s lifestyle and beliefs. For example, as a custom-paper writer for cheating students, he judges others’ choices because they are incapable of writing their own assignments. He does not view it is as his own fault. In fact, Danté sees it as facticity; for things happen that are out of his control. Students will always demand his services because of this belief that his writing will ultimately “help them graduate”. Danté’s existentialist approach acquires him to see how others think and act as a being. Danté acts in bad faith by refusing to accept and embrace the responsibility of his actions. He instead blames it on other’s decisions to cheat. Since people have freedom to make their own choices, they should be responsible for themselves as well. In Danté’s
