Class is cancelled Wednesday, 28 March E XAM #2 G UIDE T HE U NITED S TATES S INCE 1865 F RIDAY , 30 M ARCH 2012 E XTENDED O FFICE HOURS . On Wednesday, 28 March, the TAs will hold office hours, 10am to 12pm, in the TA office adjacent to the history office in Morton Hall. I will hold office hours on Wednesday as well, 1.30- 3.30pm (253 Morton). Feel free to stop by with any questions. If these times don’t work, email me to make an appointment. E XAM CONTENT . The examination will consist of ONE essay question (chosen from list below) and up to FIVE quotation identifications (chosen from the primary documents & Anne Moody’s Coming of Age in Mississippi ). The exam tests your knowledge of the readings, lectures, and documentary films from Monday, 15 February up to (and including) class on Monday, 26 March. E SSAYS QUESTIONS . One of the following essay questions below will appear on the exam. 1. How did the New Deal (and the implementation of Liberalism & Keynesianism) transform the lives of Americans and the role of Government? To answer this question, be sure to define of “Liberalism” & “Keynesianism.” 2. How did the Cold War transform U.S. foreign & domestic policy between 1945 and the close of the Vietnam War? To answer this question, be sure to define “Cold War.” 3. According to Anne Moody, what was the central goal of the Civil Rights Movement?
