Andrew King FST 110 Liza Palmer Film Studies Frame Analysis Leonardo DiCaprio as Dom Cobb, “Inception” 2010 “Inception”, produced by Christopher Nolan, stars Leonardo DiCaprio as the major character . In this film, Cobb (DiCaprio), undergoes many struggles. Struggles ranging from personal issues to more complex things like the difference between dream state and reality. In this shot, the viewer gets a grasp of the implicit meaning and explicit meaning of the shot, but the film as a whole as well. The viewer sees Cobb looking confused and lost about reality and needs to spin his totem to more fully get a grasp of reality (explicit). Implicitly, Cobb is undergoing much more stress that is causing him to rethink his mission and life in general. His wife, Mal, passed away a few years back due to dream state complications (limbo) and Cobb seems to have never been able to get passed that part of his life.
