Globalization : fundamental changes in the spatial and temporal contours of social existence, according to which the significance of space or territory undergoes shifts in the face of a no less dramatic acceleration in the temporal structure of crucial forms of human activity. In popular discourse, globalization often define phenomena like: the pursuit of liberal policies in the world economy (“economic liberalization”); the dominance of western (mostly American) forms of political, economic, and cultural life (“westernization” or “Americanization”); the proliferation of information technologies (the “Internet Revolution”); the abstract notion that humanity might realize one single un ified community (“global integration”). Umma is now conceptually separated from any actual territory: it is now an abstract, imagined community. Concepts of identity shift: the fading importance of physical borders led to new forms of belonging to and differentiation among people.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
