Muslim Youth in Norrth America Cultural anthropology: branch of anthropology which object of study is the cultural variation found between and among groups of individual. It is also the study of the causes and consequences (historical, economic, political, etc.) of these variations. Anthropologists use a variety of methods, including participant observation, interviews and surveys. Most of the research for this textbook was done in the early years of the millennium (2000- 2005) among youth who were between 15 and 29 years old at the time. Characteristics of “World Youth”: Most educated generation in human history. Does not necessarily translate into better opportunities, livelihood, or security. Post-Cold War era where certain values were to become universal (and yet failed to do so). Human rights were to become the moral and political compass of the world after the fall of the Berlin Wall. Spread of a global order steeped in discourses and principles of rights, justice, democracy, gender equity, and citizen participation.
