Lecture 7 19:27 Book VIII Speculating about how society may break down How this may happen Something to do with ratios and scales Patterns in nature Shit makes no sense After it breaks down from a meritocracy it goes to a timocracy  The society in which timocratic individuals are obsessed with their own honor and freak  out over the smallest bull shit.  Goes to war easily, finds satisfaction in conquering other  people.  It’s chief ideal is its own honor and reputation Kind of like the Spartans  They are no longer the simple and earnest people they were Two parts to timocratic soul One side is tempted by wealth, but they are characterized by the spirited side Then it goes to an oligarchy Ruled by the wealthy Oligarchical soul is characterized by its competitive nature, its need or lust for crap.  But  it is still disciplined. But good appetites are keeping bad appetites in check Disciplined because it is characterized by the appetite for necessary things.  Also is a  miserly soul.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

I cannot even describe how much Course Hero helped me this summer. It’s truly become something I can always rely on and help me. In the end, I was not only able to survive summer classes, but I was able to thrive thanks to Course Hero.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
