Fairbanks Aja Fairbanks February 25, 2014 In what ways do you think the Elaboration Likelihood Model applies to a recent ad that you have seen? If you are highly involved with a particular product, do you care about the expertise of who is delivering a message? Would you have the same attitude if you are not involved with the product? What elements of the message are most persuasive then? Victoria Secret: Victoria Secret is a brand that is respected on a global level. Advertisements are posted about Victoria Secret on television commercials and online. They host an annual fashion show and consumers can access Victoria Secret’s products online and in store as well as by catalogue. The most recent ad that I have seen by the brand was on television commercial. The models for the brand did a special commercial to advertise “sexy” lingerie from but they featured their “bombshell” collection. The message in the ad invited female buyers to purchase the exclusive bras on sale just in time for Valentine’s Day. The sale was for approximately 2 weeks.
