Aja Fairbanks March 23, 2014 Mktg 330 Lesson 9 Navigate through the sites shown below to answer the following questions: (JC Penney) (Backcountry) (IKEA) (Tiffany’s) (Boscov’s) 1. What evidence can you find that shows these retailers value customers? If you found evidence, explain how the retailer makes customers feel appreciated. If you found no evidence, explain how the retailer could implement the value concept online. When I navigated through JC Penney’s website, I found sufficient evidence that this retailer values customers. At the bottom of the homepage is a link for “JCP cares.” This page. Since 2012, JCP has shared a partnership with organization such as, TeamUSA, The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, and the Boys and Girls Club. JCP raises millions of dollars to support these organizations. Also, there are many offers on ways to save or win money. Customers can write a review on JCP to win $500, frequent sales and rewards are offered all year. Feedback is encouraged, which shows that JCP values their customer’s opinions. Among the evidence that shows customers are valued, the most important is that there audience is not limited. JCP does not “only” market to petique women or to men and women of a certain age. There are products and services available for the whole family and for a number of occasion, such as, weddings. Backcountry values customers by providing links on their page to commonly asked questions. They even provide a link, “what’s wrong with this page?” Due to the type of products that Backcountry sells and the activities that they are designed for, group sales are offered. In addition, there are videos provided that show customers engaged in activities where they are using the product. This gives undecided customers a chance to decide if the product would suit their needs.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
