Very close to where Chin emperor has his tomb – important location Pounded Earth/brick wall Nobility homes near emperors palace and administrative center, common people and  merchants more spread out but within the walls. Built on a North-South axis No gates in north, but a gate to south, east and west Nobility in Northeast corner Emperor “Imperial City” in central north Emperor’s palace is traditionally in the north because danger usually came from the  north and they wanted to protect the north the strongest.
