Pleural toxicity – ex: bleomycin Office Spirometry: Indications Smokers Restrictive lung disease Occupational risk (fumes, dust, particles) Preoperatively to check for occult lung disease if surgery will lead to post-op impairment of breathing and coughing Smokers – can assess for decreased functioning, also may motivate them to quit.
