Another reason why their tree is better is because they probably had a far superior understanding of the species they were looking at. Carlos and I barely knew the basics of the species that we studied. These scientists probably had a more in depth understanding of what a crayfish was thus allowing them to characterize them more accurately. Another reason why their diagram was better was because it went more into depth. Our tree was basically a diagonal line with taxons jutting out of it with semi-correct placement of species, while their tree was much more characterized and correct compared to ours....
