Zachary Fisher-Edelglass March 20, 2013 EN102 Professor Hays Journal 6 In literature, there is a extensive collection of vampire stories. From works about the his- tory and folklore of vampirism, to modern romanticized stories, vampires have become a staple in pop culture readings. However, I find there is one novel which tops them all. Unparalleled in atmosphere and suspense, Bram Stoker’s Dracula is a masterpiece. Without the landmark novel, vampires would never have become as significant in our modern society. Unfortunately, I have never been an avid reader. While there have been several excep- tions, I do not greatly enjoy reading many novels. However, Dracula is one of my absolute favor- ites. I find that no other vampire novel that I have read has come close to the level of imagination that Dracula embodies. The gothic aurora that exudes the pages is incredible. I think Stoker per- fected the vampire mythology by adapting some traditional qualities with his own unique vision.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
