According to the previous chapter summations, “White collar crime arises out of legitimate business activities”. (P137) For white collar criminals to have sufficient creation of ‘opportunity’, the structure and organization of business activities can create such opportunity. In white collar crime opportunity ratio, we should expect with the self-control theory that there is a larger amount than not of white collar offenders “because people who occupy white collar type positions are presumed to be in high self-control hence the ability to resist seductions of criminal opportunities’”.
