this topic for me is that I, myself was a victim of abuse as a child but have never exhibited violent or criminal behavior, and establishing whether or not childhood abuse is directly related to becoming abusive as an adult will allow me to prepare myself for whatever is necessary to prevent violent behaviors I may exhibit in the future and essentially break the cycle.
