CJ415 Week 3 Discussion Post Is it possible to carry out policing without resorting to bureaucratic organizations? Discuss how this would or would not be possible. Understanding per the reading assignment in chapter 5, that individuals and organizations that participate, or encourage bureaucratic type methods are more than likely going to promote and evoke strong negative feelings in respect to the public, and their views and opinions about policing policies; there are annotated to be certain advantages with just as many disadvantages to policing methods that incorporate bureaucratic policing methods. Unformatted text preview: established chain of command, there would be rookie cops responding to and being lead investigators of intricate homicide investigations which would likely result in several investigatory failures and ultimate failure on the part of police officials. As a result of this example in it of itself, I do not think that it is possible for a police departments to carry out their duties in a non-bureaucratic manner and I think that though there are negative aspects of such applications, there are still positive aspects of such applications that are necessary to the overall success of our nations police forces and ultimately the safety of the individuals within our communities....
