Ask the parent and child if they recall receiving any additional vaccines that are not recorded. Refer to the child’s health care agency chart. Follow established guidelines in determining which immunizations are currently due for this child. Refer to the individual state requirements for public school attendance In Indiana on the CDC website – changes happen yearly. February 2013 was the latest update. Know and utilize the current Recommended Immunization Schedule for Persons Aged 0-6 Years, and for Persons 7-18 These recommended apply to children who have not had the specific disease they prevent . Assess for contraindications to vaccination due at this visit Refer to ATI or Hockenberry for current list (on this PowerPoint as well)
