Argument against legalization (chapter 9) Human life is fundamentally and inherently valuable and that the intentional taking of human life by private persons is always wrong I do not believe that the two come at odds Human life is fundamentally and inherently valuable, and physician assisted suicide helps provide patients with fulfilling lives (see Diane) We seek to protect and preserve life for life's own sake in everything from our most fundamental laws of homicide to our road traffic regulations to our largest governmental programs for health and social security All persons innately have dignity and are worthy or respect without regard to their perceived value based on some instrumental scale of usefulness or merit Who are we to determine when a life becomes 'not valuable' anymore if that is the reasoning behind physician assisted suicide Then do you argue that life's value is instrumental, not innate?

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
