Lecture 13... Audio recording started: 10:01 AM Tuesday, March 26, 2013 Data type is a set of values and the operations that can be performed on them More advanced data types - we don't care about the internal representation. We call data types objects Instance method as opposed to a static object Colors are represented by 8 bit digits (not two's complement, therefore no negatives) There are about 16 millions colors possible. awt = abstract window toolkit The function toString() can be used to print an object for debugging. Color is a data type He word new is used to make stuff (i.e. it's the constructor) You need to put import java.awt.Color at the top just before the class name (in order to make new colors). For web designers bigger than 128 is suitable for putting certain colors of words (for readability). OOP context of color slide suggests how colors are represented (like 3 values in Hex-valued/indexed arrays - TOY addresses) Remember this - it's not the color itself (source of bugs) Magenta is the name of the pointer to the color = main point Filename version or length by width version Picture data type - the constructor is overloaded - two different input type sets Get() can be used to obtain a new color Name of object, a dot, the name of the instance method, and the arguments.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
