Graves 1 Candace Graves Comp II Briley 23 September 2012 My Response to “2016: Obama’s America” Last night I saw “2016: Obama’s America,” going in to this movie I didn’t really know what to expect. The only thing I knew about the movie is what we had talked about in class. I’ve never really kept up with politics and never thought that I would vote while I was young because I just wasn’t educated enough. I have never done any research on President Obama or what he has during the four years that he has been in office, and so like many Americans I am completely clueless when it comes to voting and choosing a president for our nation. But this movie had a huge affect on the way that I think; it has made me want to research and look further into the candidates up for election. At the beginning of the movie Obama’s childhood was discussed, and the narrator talked about Obama’s father and mother. I had heard before watching the movie that he was from Hawaii and that he was half black. But I had no idea that his father was from Kenya, or that his father wasn’t even apart of his life. This really shocked me because I had heard of Obama’s book “Dreams from My Father” in class a little and just assumed that his father was a huge part of his life and a role model for him. But he only met him once when he was ten,
