Candace Graves 10/25/11 Journal #4: Diversity I read an article about gender diversity in politics. I believe that sometimes women are just left out of politics, and only males have the chance to be involved. This article states that ballots should have more gender diversity so that women have the right to give their opinion. I personally think that it’s very important. Women have gained a lot of freedom through the years and why should we stop now? I don’t think that males should be superior to women in anyway. We should all be seen as equals. People should vote for candidates in elections strictly based on their beliefs. If they think that what they believe will help the country grow then they should be voted for. I don’t think that its fair that women are sometimes automatically not voted for

I do agree that sometimes they man is better fit for the job at hand, but sometimes the women aren’t even given a chance to prove themselves before everyone assumes they aren’t for the position. I have learned a lot from our recent talk about diversity, and I know that sometimes I am quick to judge someone before I get to know him or her; I look at only the outward appearance and don’t take the time to really get to know them. The issue of gender discrimination in politics and diversity on this campus, and all around the world are all equally important issues that need to be discussed. Jiggetts, Jennifer.
