This will be thetitrant. Configure a clean 50-mL buret on a support stand. The buret should be rinsed withdistilled water, then with the potassium permanganate. Once rinsed, close the stopcock and fillthe buret with the permanganate solution past the zero mark. Open the stopcock until themeniscus is just below the 0-mL mark. An empty beaker should be placed under the buret tocatch waste. Record the starting volume.Measure 4.0-5.0 g of ferrous ammonium sulfate, recording the precise mass. Place 10 mLof H2SO4 and 10 mL of distilled water in a 250-mL Erlenmeyer flask, then swirl the flask to misthe solution. Add the ferrous ammonium sulfate and swirl until dissolved.
