1.The process of orographic lifting actually create the dramatic difference shown in the image. The concept of orographic lifting is that when air encounter barriers, such as mountains, it will force to raise along the barrier. Then the air would condenses and releases its moisture in the form of precipitation. The side which the air release its moisture is called the windward side while the other side of the mountain is called the leeward side. Usually, when the air pass through the windward side and enters the leeward side, the air has already lose its moisture. This is called the rain shadow effect, in which the windward side of the mountain is much more greener and vegetated than the leeward side of the mountain. 1.In the Image, it showed the huge difference that the process of orographic lifting creates. The orographic lifting is that air will force to rise along the barrier, such as mountains. Then, the air would condense and releases its moisture by precipitation. The windward side is the side which the air release its moisture, and the other side of the mountain is Leeward side. In fact, the air has already lost its moisture when it’s passing through the windward side and enters the Leeward side. It is called the rain shadow effect. Therefore, the windward side of the mountain is much greener and vegetated than the leeward side. 2.Temperature is an indication of how air molecules are moving. When the air in the hot air ballon is heated, the molecules in the air of the hot ballon would have more energy and move faster. The molecules in the heater is now with more energy and would spread out inside the ballon. In this way, the heated air actually weight less and have a lower pressure than its normal state as there are fewer molecules per square inch of air. As a result, when air is heated in the hot ballon, it become lighter and with lower air pressure, the hot ballon will rise. 2. When the air in the hot air balloon is heated, the molecules in the air of the hot balloon would have more energy and move faster than the cold air. Therefore, the molecules in the heater is with more energy to spread out inside the balloon. So that, the heated air actually weight less and
