After watching three of the five movie clips listed in the Multimedia section, above, describe how they fit into a specific genre (or subgenre) as explained in the text. What elements of the film are characteristic of that genre? How does it fulfill the expectations of that genre? How does it play against these expectations? Each of these clips from these films represents a certain genre and or subgenre. First that I can identify with is Johnny Deeps role in the Dead Man. This film embodies a true western if ever I have seen one with two sheriffs looking for Johnny Deep, and then them eventually ending in a gun fight between the law men and Johnny Deep. Their mannerisms as well as their attire resemble a movie set during those times. The next two movies, ''The Creature from the Black Lagoon'' and ''The Shinning''. These movies are classical examples of the Horror movie genre. While one is more of a monster horror movie that being the movie, ''The Creature from the Black

With the first one being a monster attacking would be travelers or explorers in this swamp, and the other one being a scene were a boy witnesses two girls creepily trying to tell him to play with them and then showing the boy what happened to them while staying in this hotel. While Woody Allen's role in the movie, ''Sleeper'', is a genre called comedy. As he is continually asked questions on famous people from the past since this movie's premise is set in the future and he continually cracks jokes and odd comments about the people he is asked to identify. Which in turn creates a comedic scene for the audience watching. Next and last scene would fit the genre of fantasy, as Harry Potter fly's a car in this supposed world dogging trains and have an exciting adventure. Reason it fulfills this genre is due to the fact that cars can't fly....
