NARRATIVE 1141: Ship commenced steering checks at—one fault noted: timing error on the rudder. The re-check was SAT. 1158: The ship’s deck log reports “shifted to aux gyro.” 1201: VMS at the chart table shifted from FWD GVRC to FWD RLGN. VMS DR’d ship three times and re-plotted ship 1.5 miles from previous posit. VMS logged 380 position discrepancy alarms from 1200 to 2003 1528: Ship operated in W-191 to conduct system operation verification test of CIWS and DLQ’s .
