HIST 111 The Legacy of Egypt Ancient Egypt although inhabited during the same time period as the Sumerians was starkly different in many areas of development to include language, writing, irrigation, time, rule, and most importantly architecture. Legacy can be explained as all the things left behind by our ancestors to be passed on to their predecessors. It is apparent that even looking at smaller increments of times marked by Pharaoh deaths the land of Egypt left legacies to be passed onto the next Pharaoh. If we look at the legacy of Egypt from our lifetime a remarkable wealth of legacy still exists some 3,500 years later. Ask any grade school student in America to talk about Egypt and you likely receive mention of the pyramids from nearly all interviewed if not all of them. It should come to no surprise then, that the Pyramids of Giza built in 2560 B.C.E for the tomb of Khufu are one of the ancient seven natural wonders of the world still in existence (pg. 28).

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
