I believe that it is important for employers to ask questions strictly about the skills the applicant will use on the job unless these additional facts about the applicants past and/or opinions somehow relate to the job at hand. It could be difficult for employers not to judge an applicant based on their personal opinions or past life because humans simply have the nature of judging what doesn’t necessarily correspond to them. That is why these topics should stay out of interviews, because certain biases could be created because of an applicants opinions and beliefs and that does not necessarily tie in to the fact they could be a great candidate for the job. When applying for a job the application process involves answering basic background information such as age, marital status, ethnicity, address, etc. I believe that should suffice regarding personal information about your life and no further questions should be asked during interviews. That is why it has been established this way already, and should stay that way. It is possible that certain
