Across the last few decades, there has been an unprecedented scale of technological advancements in communication infrastructure and related applications due to increasing demand in the consumer electronic market. In response, Google launched the Android operating system, whereas Apple created iOS to address the evolving customer needs and preferences by providing a user-friendly platform in the devices. The competitive nature of the telecommunication industry has forced the two companies to continually upgrade their devices in terms of hardware and inbuilt applications to expand their customer base and market share. While android and apple operating systems possess significant similarities, they are distinguished by vast differences across the domains of the user interface, features and functionality, applications available, which can guide potential customers in making a new purchase or switching between the platforms. While user interface of Android and iOS exhibit significant similitudes, the two differ in varied ways. User interface describes the mechanisms of interaction between humans and computer systems by the use of software and input devices for maximum usability and efficiency.
