Engleman 1 Aaron Engleman Molly Bunton GEP 05 February 2021 Sleep Deprivation in College There is a big problem facing college students today and it might be on a subject you have never thought of. This problem can affect students grades, mood, personality, and the rest of their lives if this problem is not solved. The problem being talked about is sleep deprivation. Many people will struggle with this throughout their life without even knowing they are. The first source found to support this study was Chen, Wei-Lin, and Jen-Hao Chen. “Consequences of Inadequate Sleep during the College Years: Sleep Deprivation, Grade Point Average, and College Graduation.” Preventive Medicine , vol. 124, July 2019, pp. 23–28. EBSCOhost , doi:10.1016/j.ypmed.2019.04.017. Sleep deprivation affected more than just GPA. It affectedWhether or not the student graduated. It was also found that sleep deprivation is more harmful to a senior rather than a freshman. This is because the freshman still has time to fix the bad habit before it becomes a lifetime thing.
