There has been no visual recognition therefore seeing the person in effect doesn’t “ring a bell”. This is true for Mike May and his wife. He has recognized his wife by the sound of her voice, the length of her hair, and etcetera. However, visually Mike has not recognized her look. This is true for both Mike May and other blind people miraculously seeing again. This article also reveals how “hard wired” our bodies really are. Mike May still relies on his “blind” ways of sensation to decipher things. The use of sight is not instantaneous; we have to look at something, perceive it, and then store it to memory. Therefore, I determine that no matter what sense one lacks or have he or she must have “experience” to render the sense applicable....
