There are several factors in combination determine the type of tubulars acceptable for use. 1. Hardness of the steel. 2. Minimum operation temperature. 3. Concentration of Hydrogen Sulfide in the flow stream. 4. Stresses in the tubulars. 5. Exposure time. 6. The pH of the mud will effect Hydrogen Sulfide activity(only a safety feature). Buckling Axial loads in combination with internal and external pressure differentials can cause casing to buckle. Setting off casing weight on bottom can cause buckling. Casing should be hung in a minimum of full buoyed sting weight. Prediction of buckling tendency for a casing string is accomplished by comparison of the axial tension loads and the stabilizing forces.
