assumed setting depth is either OK or too deep
depending on the magnitude of the difference. Try
a shallower depth and recalculate until the
difference is acceptable. Establishing the setting
depth to the nearest even 100 foot value is
sufficient. At this point a mechanically sound
casing point program will be established. The
projected formation pressure versus depth
projection can be wrong so that up to a design
size kick and gain can be encountered and handled
without loss of integrity at the casing shoes(Fig.3).
