Lewis 1 The issue of abortion has been debated for many years, and largely deals with people’s morals and standards. The movement in the United States largely began after Roe vs. Wade, the 1973 United States Supreme Court decision that held abortion to be a constitutional right. Most people have an opinion if it is okay in society for a woman to have an abortion. Any court decisions related to abortion almost always bring protestors from both sides. Polls show Americans are split almost evenly on the issue. The issue has been recharged under the Bush administration. In Bush's first term, Congress passed a bill making third trimester abortions, or "partial birth abortions" illegal. Should it be legal or banned in America? Is it morally right to kill an unborn fetus? Maybe you can decide for yourself. There are two sides to the issue of abortion. Prominently, people who are “pro- life” believe against abortion in most circumstances, believing it is morally wrong, and people who call themselves “pro-choice”, believing that it is acceptable to have an abortion, and that it is the woman’s choice if she chooses to have one. First of all, people who believe in “pro-life” on the issue of abortion believe strongly against it, considering it murder and demeans the value of life. This is sometimes largely
