For each of the questions posed in this lab, respond in writing in the box provided or as otherwise directed. (Although you may consult with others about each question, your written answers need to be in your own words.) Question Set #1. For this set of questions, you will compare observations of insolation with observations of temperature recorded at the same place and date. You’ll also compare observations of insolation at Hanford, CA recorded in late May and mid December. First, refer to the two meteograms for Hanford, CA, each covering part of one day and all of the next. One begins on December 15 and runs through December 16, 1998 (local time). The other begins on May 22 and runs through May 23, 1999. (Note, though, that the dates and times labeled on the meteograms are in UTC, which is standard time in Greenwich, England.) Question (1)(a) On each meteogram, mark and label the following key local standard times: midnight, noon, sunrise and sunset. (Turn in your annotated meteograms with your written responses to this lab.) [Note: On December 16, 1998 at Hanford, the sun rose at 7:03 am and set at 4:45 pm local standard time (LST). On May 22, 1999, the sun rose at 4:44 am and set at 7:04 pm LST. Using the meteograms, describe the pattern of temperature over the course of a 24- hour day (local standard time) on December 16, 1998 and on May 22, 1999 (local time).
