One difference that we can see between these two plots is that for every daylight hour on December 16, 1998, the sun was less intense (on a horizontal surface) than it was at the same hours on May 22, 1999. Suppose that someone proposes a possible explanation for this difference, and two other people each propose an alternative explanation. Suppose that the three proposed explanations are: The difference in solar intensity between the two days (on a horizontal surface at the top of the atmosphere) was due to: 1. the difference in distance between the earth and the sun on the two days 2. the difference in sun angle between the two days, at each daylight hour 3. the difference in atmospheric conditions (composition) between the two days Question (2)(c).
